Getting started

Before you start to write your CV, it is important to think about your skills and experience and what you can bring to an organisation.  To assist you, we have provided some key tips on writing a winning CV.

Do...

  • Aim your CV at an identified target audience. Check the job description to ensure you understand the role and look at the employer's website to get a feel for the company culture.

Don't...

  • Write long lists of modules and subject areas for technical jobs.  Include only those that are of particular relevance to the role you are applying for.
  • Leave long gaps in employment and education, you will be expected to substantiate all career gaps.
